How to keep your suede jacket clean

Suede is a fashion icon and a durable material. It is used in high-quality gloves, jackets, hats and boots. Suede is a very difficult material to clean, and we should seek expert advice for that.

As a suede expert, we advise you to keep your suede in a cloth bag; otherwise, dust particles will stick to the suede material and make it dirty. A cloth bag also allows it to breathe properly to keep it fresh. We advise not to put them in a plastic bag because a plastic bag would not allow them to breathe. Always have the suede garment clean before you store it.

In case your suede garment has any dirt on it, brush your garment with a soft-bristled clothing brush to remove minor stains and dirt.

Suede garments must be kept away from the rain (water). Water can ruin your favourite suede garments. If your suede clothes get wet in the rain, do not try to dry them with an electric blow dryer or clothes dryer. Clothes must be dried by using an absorbent paper i.e., blotting paper or with a paper towel. Try removing as much water as you can. After removing the water with blotting paper, let it dry. When it is completely dry, clean it by using a soft-bristled brush.
